Mike Wolfe and Leticia Cline Involved in Serious Car Crash: American Pickers Star Speaks Out
In a heartbreaking turn of events, American Pickers star Mike Wolfe and his longtime girlfriend Leticia Cline were involved in a serious car accident earlier this September. While Wolfe has since been released from the hospital, Cline remains under medical care and faces a long and difficult road to recovery.
Mike Wolfe, 61, is best known for scouring the backroads of America in search of antiques and forgotten treasures as the star of the long-running History Channel series. But earlier this month, it was his own life that took a dramatic turn when the couple was involved in a frightening crash.
Wolfe sustained less serious injuries and has been discharged from the hospital, but Cline’s condition is far more severe. She has been open about her recovery, sharing updates with fans on Instagram. According to her posts, she suffered multiple traumatic injuries, including a broken jaw in several places, broken ribs, a fractured sternum, a partially collapsed lung, and swelling along her spine.
In a brave message to her followers, Cline said, “Hopefully, I get surgery tomorrow, but I still got my brain and that’s all that matters.” Photos shared from her hospital bed show her wearing a neck brace and receiving an IV drip of ketamine, with Wolfe lovingly by her side—even reclining next to her as she slept.
Her medical team confirmed that she was airlifted from the crash site and will require several surgeries once the swelling has decreased. One of the most difficult parts of her recovery will involve having her jaw wired shut.
Despite the severity of the situation, Wolfe has remained strong and grateful. “It’s been a rough night, but now there’s light at the end of the tunnel,” he shared, thanking fans for their prayers and support. He expressed particular gratitude to the medical team and asked for privacy during this deeply personal time. “I believe in the power of group prayers,” he added.
This personal tragedy follows another major shift in Wolfe’s life. Earlier this year, he made the difficult decision to close his beloved Nashville store, Antique Archaeology, after 15 years in business. In an emotional statement to fans, he said, “This isn’t goodbye. It’s just a new rhythm,” hinting at a deeper desire to slow down and refocus his life.
Meanwhile, American Pickers continues into its 27th season, which premiered in July. However, the show now moves forward without Wolfe’s longtime friend and co-star Frank Fritz, who sadly passed away in September 2024 due to complications from a stroke. Wolfe has often spoken about the deep bond they shared, saying, “Every day we think about Frank on set. He was such a big part of the show and my life since 8th grade.”
As Wolfe begins to heal physically and emotionally, Cline’s journey is just beginning. The couple’s resilience in the face of such adversity has inspired fans across the country. But many are now wondering: Will this life-altering accident prompt Wolfe to reevaluate his career and personal priorities? And could it ultimately impact the future of American Pickers?
Only time will tell.
