Mike Wolfe, the longtime star of the History Channel’s hit show American Pickers, is returning to the screen with a brand-new television project — all while recovering from a harrowing car accident that left both him and his partner, Leticia Cline, seriously injured.

A New Chapter After Crisis

Wolfe, 60, took to Instagram on October 2 to share that he’s currently filming a new series for History. The post features car collector and influencer Magnus Walker alongside Wolfe, teasing a series titled History’s Greatest Picks With Mike Wolfe.

“Filming a new project for @history… Anyone recognize this petrol explorer? This new show I promise will have great story and artifacts,” Wolfe wrote.

According to Cineflix Productions, the series will include eight hour-long episodes spotlighting “legendary treasures, relics and artifacts from across history.”

“I’ve been on the road filming American Pickers for over a decade, tracking down hidden gems in the most unexpected places and connecting with fascinating people who are preserving history,” Wolfe said in a news release. “I’m looking forward to embarking on a new adventure, while continuing my lifelong passion of picking with this series. Viewers are in for a ride through the greatest finds of all time.”

The Accident

The announcement comes just weeks after Wolfe and Cline were involved in a serious car crash in Columbia, Tennessee on September 12. The couple was driving a vintage Porsche 356 as part of a photo shoot for an upcoming book project when they collided with an SUV that, according to Cline, pulled out from a side street with “little to no time to react.”

Wolfe sustained a broken nose, and injuries to his knee and wrist, while Cline endured far more critical trauma — including a jaw broken in three places, broken ribs and sternum, a collapsed lung, and spinal swelling. She was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for emergency treatment and underwent extensive jaw surgery, which her medical team described as one of the most challenging procedures they’d performed.

Despite the severity of the crash, Wolfe was released earlier and continues to receive follow-up care. Cline has since returned home to Kentucky to continue her recovery.

Cline Speaks Out

Cline, a former motorcycle racer, writer, and city councilwoman, has shared candid updates about her healing process on social media. “I can only eat out of a syringe and I’m now down 12 pounds,” she wrote on September 28. She later revealed that while nothing new was broken, she was dealing with a ruptured implant.

“I know we are lucky,” she said in an emotional post. “I still have my teeth (though not in the right places), I avoided brain damage, and I am surrounded by an amazing team of doctors, our family, friends, and our pastor. For that, I am deeply grateful.”

She added: “Having [my voice] limited is terrifying, but I remain hopeful that with time and care I’ll fully recover.”

Community Support

Wolfe, who has been dating Cline since 2021, expressed deep admiration for her resilience. In a heartfelt Instagram tribute, he wrote:

“I’ve been witness to your strength and beauty thru tough situations for years now. This is by far the hardest thing I have ever seen you climb up from… I’m in love with you. I’m proud of you and I stand with you.”

The couple has received an outpouring of support from fans and friends alike. American Pickers co-star Danielle Colby posted: “I love you both…You’ve got this Tish. The part about having your voice limited brought me to tears. You’re gonna have that voice back again soon, don’t forget that.”

Magnus Walker also chimed in on Wolfe’s project announcement, commenting: “Congrats on the new show & thanks for the seat time 😉 CheeRS.”

Looking Forward

While Wolfe continues his recovery, the launch of History’s Greatest Picks marks a new chapter in his storied television career. Fans of American Pickers can expect the same passion for discovery, history, and storytelling — now paired with a renewed sense of purpose following the accident.

As Wolfe and Cline continue to heal, they remain grateful for the continued prayers and messages of support from fans worldwide.
