Mystery of American Pickers' sudden axe deepens as History Channel star deletes social media

American Pickers star Danielle Colby deactivated her Instagram account shortly after she claimed that the show has been cancelled by the History Channel after 27 seasons, fueling mystery over the show’s future.

The television personality, 50, alleged on social media on Wednesday that the beloved series is ‘done’ and that she had been making strides in what she wanted to do next.

Since making the claims, however, Colby’s Instagram page is no longer ‘available’ and visitors to her profile are now met with an error page.

Additionally, Colby’s American Pickers co-stars Mike Wolfe and his brother Rob Wolfe have yet to address her claims, further adding to the uncertainty.

A spokesperson for the History Channel told Parade: ‘We aren’t producing new episodes right now… but we could go back into production early next year.’

Daily Mail has reached out to the Wolfes and the History Channel for further comment.

Speaking in a video that was shared with her followers on Wednesday, Colby said: ‘I am at this epic crossroads where I’ve laid out what I want to do – so I already have that plan in motion.

‘Now is the time where I like have to, like, fully dig in and commit to this plan that I have laid out.’American Pickers' Danielle Colby deactivated her Instagram account after claiming the show has been cancelled

Colby added that ‘without the financial support of American Pickers, it’s going to be a wild one.

‘It kind of takes me right back to where I started when American Pickers started.’

Prior to becoming a regular on American Pickers, Colby was a burlesque dancer and had other freelance endeavors because she wasn’t ‘really getting paid by Pickers yet.’

‘I had started doing burlesque pre-American Pickers, so it takes me back to the space where I’m like building everything up from scratch,’ she said.

She promised her Instagram followers that she would keep them in the loop on her ongoings as the show draws to its conclusion.

‘I’m gonna take you with [me] on this journey because I don’t know what to do if I’m not filming my work,’ she added.

‘So I’m just gonna continue to film my work, and you can come with me on this process as a former reality TV star, just trying to find her f***ing way in the world.’

Before ending her video, Colby said she is planning on focusing her efforts on her business, the Ecdysiast Arts Museum located in her native Davenport, Iowa.

‘I’ve got the plan; we’re moving forward – but how do I make money with the museum? That’s the question… wish me luck.’

American Pickers, created by Mike, first arrived on the air in 2010 featuring Colby and the late Frank Fritz.

Fritz died in September of 2024 at 60 after years of health complications, as his ailment caused him to leave the show in 2021, and he suffered a stroke the following year.

American Pickers focuses on a group of businesspeople from the Midwest scouring the country for rare collectibles they plan to resell or keep.

The show is currently airing its 27th season with the most recent episode airing on Wednesday night.
