The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys’ Cole McBee is sharing a major update on how his dad, Steve McBee Sr., is doing in prison. Steve is currently serving a two-year prison sentence at FPC Yankton in Yankton, South Dakota, and is remaining optimistic during this time, according to Cole.

Cole and his pregnant fiancé, Kacie Adkison, spoke with Bravo Insider earlier this week, where they revealed that they had just visited Steve in South Dakota with their 1-year-old daughter, Blair Collins McBee. “We actually went up there last weekend, as a whole family, to see him on Father’s Day, and then we go up again on Friday because he has ‘Bring Your Grandkid to Jail Day,’ I guess,” Cole explained.

Cole continued, noting that Jesse McBee and Alli McBee’s 1-year-old daughter, Summer Leigh McBee, will be there as well for this upcoming event. “So Blair gets to go up and spend the day with my dad and Summer [too],” he said. “We were laughing. We’re like, ‘Man, this is so interesting. Our life.'”

“It adds some levity,” Kacie added. “Like when Blair gets older, she’s gonna have some stories to tell.”

Cole continued, revealing that Steve has also maintained a sense of humor about his life while serving out his prison sentence. “It’s kind of sad, but it’s kind of funny because we’re getting through it and we’ll be fine,” he said.

“My dad, you know, this is a tough situation, but he’s doing good. And he’s a very cup-half-full type of guy,” he added. “He always sees the best side of every situation and tries to get through things, so he would laugh about this too.”

Steve’s sentence has had a major impact not just on all four of the McBee brothers, but even for the smallest McBee family members. Cole revealed to Bravo Insider what Blair said the last time they went to visit Steve in prison. “We pulled in last time, and Blair [said] ‘Papa. Papa’s home.’ I’m like, ‘No, this is prison. Papa will be home soon,'” Cole recalled. “I’m like, ‘This ain’t his home.'”

“She recognizes it now,” Kacie added.
